If you cannot debug problems on the site as you can't see the full error messages.
Go to web.config file for the Sitecollection and replace the following entries:
under <system.web>:
<customErrors mode='On' /> set it to <customErrors mode='Off' />
and add the following line:
<trace enabled='true' pageOutput='true'/>
under <SharePoint>:
<SafeMode ... CallStack='false' ... >
set to <SafeMode ... CallStack='true' ... >
and changes in :
<compilation batch='false' debug='false'> change it to <compilation batch='true' debug='true'>
Finally iisreset.
Now you can see all the errors on a sharepoint site.
